Estonian manors: Sagadi

This manor, I got to see indoors. Not as grandiose as I would've hoped. Also the floorplan didn't follow the original layout of the house. Instead the rooms were pretty much just filled with stuff from some time of the 17th century.

Estonian manors: Vihula and Palmse

On Sunday before travelling back home we had a bit of manor tour. I love manors! And stories about life in manors! It would be cool to visit one in Finland this summer. I don't think I've ever been to one here. Anyway, the manors we went to see are located east of Tallinn, pretty much on the coast of the Baltic sea.

Vihula is a 16th century estate. It serves as a hotel and spa nowadays. It's actually the place we were originally meant to stay at, but unfortunately it was booked full. Then again, it was farther from Tallinn than the place we ended up staying at.

Palmse is a really grandiose manor, I could so live in one like that!!! Unfortunately, due to a detour we took and a really long wait at a local diner, we didn't have time to go inside! Hopefully one day I'll get to see it properly!

Tallinn!

So, I spent the weekend in Estonia, near Tallinn. So of course we visited Tallinn. On the first night we went out to eat and on Saturday we did a bit of shopping. Not a lot at all to tell you the truth, there wasn't enough time. Anyway here are a few photos of the beautiful city of Tallinn. My image of the city took a big step up I gotta say! I wish there were less Finnish tourists though ;)

Friday we ate at a restaurant called Olde Hansa with a Middle Ages theme. It was superdark!

A geriatric weekend

This is where I'm off to next this coming weekend. A little villa outside Tallinn, Estonia. Feels a bit weird to go to a villa meant basically for rehabilitation and care for old people o_O Even though it is for my grandfathers 85th birthday. I'm sure the grandparents would've been fine in  a hotel!!! I have absolutely no idea what has been planned for the weekend. The shallow side of me wishes to go shopping in Tallinn for like an hour...

I wonder if there's a dresscode in this place...

Happily exhausted!

I'm back from my holiday, which was great! Now I'm depressed ;) Hopefully we'll get to go again next year again maybe even for two weeks with our significant others in tow. That'd be great.

I must admit I wouldn't have thought I'd love Rhodes so much! I thought it was just your average tourist place with nothing significant of its own, but boy was I wrong! The place was full of character and with the summer season not being in full gear the place wasn't like an airport.

But enough of that now. This is just to let you all know, I'm back :) Now I'm just in need of sleep and will just give you a little sneak peek photo. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to write a real post!
